The seven most challenging words in a marriage produced less complicated by the top quality and looks of this item. We had no thought how this "huge thing" would look hanging within the middle of our kitchen, but there was no other place where the stove would perform and there was no way we would have a stove with out a hood. Even though I ordered it elsewhere (a kitchen fan specialty website) the delivery and shipping was as efficient as any I have ever received from AMAZON along with the item is lovely, but falls 1 star brief as a result of the effort involved in installation, as even the pros I hired to do it took a couple of days to obtain it in location. Now I will say it is PERFECTLY centered and operates beautifully. Since I have NO experience with other hoods, I can not say this was unusually extended or not. The end result is magnificent and I'm so glad that in a project which price as a lot as a kitchen renovation, we did not skimp or cut corners on something as crucial and obvious as the hood unit.
