This range hood was to replace a fifty year old 42" range hood. I located that no nearby sources would stock a 42" range hood. A number of told me that no one in fact created that size any much more. I discovered on-line that nearly all producers created that size. I my search I found that NuTone and Broan had just what I was searching for. (The old 1 was a NuTone.) It would have been good to know that for the installation direct by way of the wall to the outside that an adaptor would be necessary to connect towards the outdoor damper. Luckily the old unit did have the adapter and also the new hood had a series of holes so that I could adjust the position considering that the original builder of the home did not center the hole by means of the wall. Otherwise the installation manual is extremely complete and understandable. I believe that the models coming on the market that can replace the Allure models will have far more efficient lights for example LED or Compact Fourescent lamps. This was an extremely great obtain.
